Meet Peanut

For those of you just tuning in, (mostly because we're new to the blogging world) we entered the wonderful world of parenting! What an adventure so far, we'd like to thank those of you who helped us get to this point. Seriously, we have had those nights when we weren't sure we were going to make it until daylight and then wondered how we would ever get through the day. Now she is sleeping through the night and starting to coo and smile at us, she is our little bundle of joy. Personally, I think she is ridiculously adorable, she is our entertainment now... here's a little blip

I must be nuts!

So after procrastinating for months Officer and I decided that this is a great way for our family and friends to see what we're up to since we don't live nearby. Our ramblings may not be intelligent most of the time, but here goes nothing...

What an amazing walnut! Seriously, in all my life I have never had the pleasure of cracking a walnut! Officer and I spent the afternoon shelling walnuts that his parents brought us from their property back home. As kids Officer and his siblings would have contests to see who could shell the walnut without breaking it. After several failed attempts I managed to shell this beauty without breaking it. Out of probably 200 walnuts, I was able to shell two without destroying them beyond recognition. It's funny how such a simple success can make your day!
